Secondary School Certificate- SSC (General Group- Matric/ Darse-E-Nazami)

Requirement for Admission

The requirement for this program (SSC) is Middle. You must have passed your 8th Class exams to take admission in SSC like Matric.

Duration of SSC (Matric/Dars-E-Nizami) program

Duration for SSC/Matric program offered by Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU is 2 Years for all types of courses under SSC.

Academic Language

Academic Language for SSC is English & Urdu available. It depends upon the course and nature of your subjects. For example, if you have chosen an English subject then definitely it will be taught in English, and similarly, if you wanna select Pak Study then this will be offered to you in Urdu. 8 Complete credits are required for taking admission in SSC program. [2 Half/ 1 Full] as per the official requirement of AIOU for SSC.

Course/Subjects required for SSC (Matric- General Group)

Here following we are gonna provide you the list of Subjects which you can opt for. As the duration for the SSC program offered by AIOU is 2 years that’s why there are 4 semesters in total and subjects detail for each semester is given below. First, three semesters’ subjects are compulsory and fourth semesters subjects Optional

*Note: Here, “FC” is for Full Credit and “HC” is for Half Credit. You have to choose 8 credits in total

You have to select 2 credits from each semester, FC means 1 Full Credit and HC means 1 Half Credit. For first semester you have to select 2 credits. Generally, people select Islamiat (1 Credit) & Pak Study (1 credit). In this way requirement of 2 credits per semester is fulfilled.

The following are the five groups for the 4th Semester, these are the optional subjects. It is up to you which group you choose. For example you choose Group-I then you must have to select subjects of 2 credits, it means that 4 HC makes 2 credit/ 1 FC and 2 Half makes 2 credits/ 4 HC makes 2 credits
