Allama Iqbal Open University opens its admissions twice a year i.e. spring admissions and autumn admissions. AIOU is a public university established in 1974. It is situated in Islamabad and is the world’s fourth-largest institution of higher education. It was established after the success of the Open University in the United Kingdom. Last Date
The last date to apply at AIOU Autumn Admissions 2021 for Matric and F.A Programmes is September 6, 2021. The last date to apply for AIOU Autumn Admissions 2021 for BS/M.Phil/Ph.D/M.B.A (Face to Face Programmes) is August 23, 2021. The last date is the same for both continued and fresh students. Admissions for Teacher Training, BA (A.D), and BS (ODL and Blended Mode) will start from September 01, 2021.
Entry Test
AIOU Autumn Admissions 2021 in PhD, MPhil, MBA, and BS Programs shall be on a merit basis. The Entry Test/Interview for PhD and MPhil will start from August 26-31, 2021. The Entry Test/Interview will start at 9:00 AM at Academic Complex, AIOU, Islamabad.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have secured 2nd division in their previous academic degrees can apply in any program for AIOU Autumn Admissions 2021. Entry Test is required for PhD and MPhil Programs.

What is the eligibility to take Admission at AIOU in Matric/ Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Programme?
A candidate applying for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Programme must have passed the Middle/9th pass or fail or SSC fail Certificate Examination and hold its certificate issued by the respective Board/Government School or Registered School. In case, the middle standard examination has been passed from any Private school, it must bear the Registration Number or attestation by the District Education Officer.

After two months of submitting the Application Form, you can confirm your admission and check the status of your AIOU admission while Browsing the AIOU website www.aiou.edu.pk clicking Link “Admission Inquiry” and providing your Name, Roll No, Challan No, or Registration No, to the Website. And also you can confirm/check the status of the AIOU books in Books Inquiry the book’s dispatch detail after your admission is confirmed.

What is the Admission Procedure that AIOU is offering?
The study is based on a modified semester system. The academic year is divided into two semesters namely Spring and Autumn. General education and functional courses are offered each semester. Ph. D, M.Phil, M.Sc/MA, and Teacher Education Programmes i.e. PTC, CT, B.Ed, M. Ed are announced once a year. The study period for each semester generally lasts 18 weeks, plus Two weeks for preparation for the examination. Admissions are offered twice a year as given below:
